Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 12, 2025

Last updated: September 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Recipes by Tyla (recipesbytyla.com) collects when you visit the site, why it is collected, which services process it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected].

1. What we collect

  • Information you give us: your name and email address when you send a message through the contact form or email us, and your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter.
  • Usage information: pages you view, how long you stay, how you scroll and click, the site that referred you, and general device details (browser, operating system, screen size, approximate location derived from your IP address).
  • Technical information: IP address and browser signals processed by our security and delivery services to keep the site available and block abusive traffic.

We do not ask for payment details, account passwords, or sensitive personal data. The site has no user accounts for readers.

2. Cookies and consent

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use a consent tool, CookieYes, which asks for your choice when you first visit. Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the site needs them to work. Functional, analytics, performance and advertisement cookies are used only if you allow them.

We use Google Consent Mode v2, which passes your choice to Google tags. If you decline analytics or advertisement cookies, Google tags do not set those cookies. They may still send limited cookieless signals, such as the fact that a page was loaded, as Google’s Consent Mode is designed to do.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of the page. Our Cookie Policy lists the categories and services in more detail.

3. Analytics

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) (installed through Google Site Kit) measures visits, traffic sources and which recipes people read. We use this to decide what to write and fix. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
  • Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with pages (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement) and produces session recordings and heatmaps. We use it to find layout problems, such as buttons people can’t find. Data is processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Both tools run only if you accept analytics cookies.

4. Advertising

This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are shown:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • If you decline advertisement cookies in the cookie settings, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalized using cookies.

5. Affiliate links

Some recipes include links to products on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. When you click one of these links, Amazon may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase to this site. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from Amazon. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how these links work.

6. Newsletter

If you subscribe, your email address is stored with Mailchimp, which sends the newsletter. Sign-up uses double opt-in: you are added only after you confirm through the email Mailchimp sends you. Mailchimp may record whether emails are opened and links clicked. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all newsletter emails.

7. Contact form

The contact form is built with Contact Form 7. What you submit (name, email, subject and message) is emailed to us so we can reply, and a copy may be kept in the site’s administration area. To keep out spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks browser signals and your IP address to tell people from bots. We use your details only to answer your message.

8. Hosting, security and performance

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which provides content delivery and security, and uses LiteSpeed caching to load pages faster. These services process IP addresses and request details to deliver pages, protect against attacks, and keep the site running. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies.

9. Pinterest

We publish pins on Pinterest that link back to recipes here. If you arrive from Pinterest or save one of our pins, Pinterest handles that activity under its own privacy policy. We see only aggregated statistics, such as how many times a pin was saved or clicked.

10. How long we keep data

  • Contact messages: kept as long as needed to handle your message, then deleted.
  • Newsletter: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your address.
  • Analytics and recordings: kept by Google and Microsoft for the retention periods set in those services, after which they are deleted automatically.
  • Your consent choice: stored in a CookieYes cookie in your browser until it expires or you clear it.

11. Your rights

We do not sell your personal information.

  • If you are in the EU, EEA or UK (GDPR): you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy of it, and withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Details are on our GDPR Compliance page.
  • If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out, decline advertisement cookies in the cookie settings or use Google’s Ads Settings. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm it is you before acting on a request.

12. Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 in the EU. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

When we add or remove a service, we update this page and the “Last updated” date above.

14. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data: [email protected], or use the contact form.
