Frozen Lemonade

This frozen lemonade is a thick, icy, tart-sweet slushie that tastes like a Chick-fil-A copycat. Blend it up in about five minutes with simple pantry ingredients.

Instructions

  1. 1

Make a quick simple syrup. Combine the sugar and 3/4 cup warm water in a jar or measuring cup. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves and the liquid is clear, about 60 seconds. This prevents gritty texture in the finished drink.

  2. 2

Add everything to the blender. Pour the simple syrup, lemon juice, and ice into a high-speed blender. If you're adding frozen strawberries or ice cream, toss those in now too.

  3. 3

Blend until thick and slushy. Pulse a few times to break up the ice, then blend on high for 30–45 seconds. You want a smooth, thick slushie consistency — no large ice chunks, but not watery either. If the blender stalls, add 2 tablespoons of cold water and pulse again.

  4. 4

Taste and adjust. Take a small sip. If it's too tart, blend in another tablespoon of sugar. If it's too sweet, add a squeeze more lemon juice. The flavor should be bold — it will mellow slightly as the ice melts.

  5. 5

Pour and serve immediately. Divide among glasses and garnish with a lemon wheel or fresh mint. Frozen lemonade starts to separate after about 10 minutes, so serve it right away for the best texture.
